Keynote for the MAC is equivalent to Microsoft’s PowerPoint. Keynote delivers Presentations and Slideshows that make PowerPoint look like the program of yesteryear. Don’t get me wrong, back in the day PowerPoint held the GURU status for Presentation Applications! Apparently, PowerPoint snoozed because Keynote has taken the lead. However, all applications come with a “learning curb.”

The questions that come up are the following:
- How do you convert a Keynote Presentation to a Quicktime Movie? With your Keynote Presentation open, go to Share/Export/-select Quicktime-/-Recorded Timing.
- How do you get your own transition times and audio to be included in the Quicktime movie rather than the fixed timing? You must record your Slideshow first. Be sure all of your Inspector settings are “automatically” done rather than “on click.”
- How do you put music in your Slideshow or Movie? In Navigator view, drag and drop the audio clip in the far left column where the slides appear. If you want the audio clip to start after a particular slide, drop it after the bold line.
- How do you convert the Quicktime movie to use on web or mobile? Once it is a Quicktime movie, the file will be too large for the web or a mobile. Open the Quicktime movie, go to File/Save for Web. At that point you can select web and iPhone.
Be sure to adjust your Sound preferences properly. Go to System Preferences/Sound/Input/Internal Microphone/Input Volume should be scaled down to nothing.
